Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) adjusted speed limits on five key roads across the city starting Sunday, November 1. The changes, which apply in both directions, raise limits on three roads and lower them on two others.

On Al Asayel Street, between Oud Metha Street and Al Meydan Street, the limit rose from 60 km/h to 80 km/h. Al Mustaqbal Street, between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street, now carries a 70 km/h limit, up from 60 km/h. Latifa bint Hamdan Street, linking Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, also moved up to 70 km/h from 60 km/h.

At the same time, the RTA lowered the limit on Al Rebat Street, between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, from 100 km/h to 90 km/h, and on Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street, from 80 km/h to 70 km/h.

The authority said the adjustments follow a comprehensive engineering and technical study carried out with international consultants, aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety. New signage has been installed on all five roads to reflect the updated limits, and motorists are advised to watch for the signs to avoid fines.

The move is part of Dubai's ongoing review of speed limits across its road network, following similar adjustments on other streets in recent years.
